Mission of Motherhood
Author: Sally Clarkson
I love Sally’s gentle, wonderfully inviting writing.  She makes you feel like you’re sipping a cup of tea and reading a note from a good friend.  This book is filled with encouraging words for the mom who feels sometimes like she’s lost her way in the fog of daily life.  Each chapter ends with practical thoughts and ideas to recharge your resolve as she reminds you of your mission as a mother.

Saving Dinner
Author: Leanne Ely
I love to cook, I enjoy pouring through magazines clipping recipes and dreaming of my family’s response when I make them.  However, as the years have gone on and responsibilities have increased, the weekly menu planning and grocery shopping lost some of their sparkle.  I used to dismally stare at the blank weekly schedule wondering what I could plan for dinner that week.  NO MORE!!  I feel like I have hired a cook.  This book is efficiently divided by season, each section features six weeks of menus with delicious recipes, side dish suggestions, and an itemized grocery list that is organized by product (dairy, meat, produce) to make one-stop shopping a snap.  The grocery lists are available to print right off of her website Each meal can basically be made in an hour or less.  She doesn’t use processed prepared items that I generally stay away from.  Best of all, my family loves the meals.  I can still try my clipped recipes when I want, but more and more I find myself turning to this book instead.  Why wouldn’t I when I can plan the week’s menus and print a grocery list in 10 minutes?
