With humility and tenderness, Eric Wallace and IUCAH offer solutions and support to those facing the challenge of how to do this in a church that is set in its ways of worship and ministry with the purpose and emphasis being on Christ and His work and the plan of using families and the church as a family of families to promote the gospel of Christ and to serve others. Chris Prang, Father, As Pastor of a more traditional Baptist church that has undergone reformation and renewal, I have found the ministry of Eric Wallace and UnitingChurch and Home to be timely and helpful. I see a groundswell of dissatisfaction with the typically disconnected, program-driven, "church as usual" pattern. God is raising up a generation of serious believers who are seeking authentic koinonia in their families and churches. IUCAH offers support for leaders and unique insight into equipping Christian households to function within the larger household of the local church. Jeffrey T.Riddle, Pastor, If I may highlight one thing that stands out in the ministry of the Institute for Uniting Church and Home is Eric's sensitivity about connecting with church leadership. He knows that local shepherds are in the week-to-week trenches of ministering and serving. And in our serving with singles and families, questions surface: How do I effectively help a small group ministry be household-like? How can I maximize my time to faithfully reproduce a ministry of discipleship that reflects Titus 2:2 and 2 Timothy 2:2? How does outreach fit in? Or maybe some of us are in church planting: In what ways can I start off in ministry that builds and sustains a family-friendly climate? I have seen first-hand how he comes alongside to "wash the feet" of local shepherds so that they might keep their focus on Jesus Christ and the big-picture of living in grace and serving in grace with God's flock. There is no doubt in my mind that UnitingChurch and Home plays an essential role in our generation richly blessing the leadership--those who serve the Household of Faith. Mark Sumpter, Pastor, "Eric Wallace has earned my endorsement. He is a team player who understands the reality on the ground where pastors have to do their work as leaders. His strategy for bringing the local church and the Christian home back into their biblical partnership has proven effective in many different circumstances. Through the Institute for Uniting Church & Home, he is raising up a generation of leaders to carry the reforms far into the future. This important new work deserves the generous and on-going support of both denominations and Christian home-school associations across the U.S." Gregg Harris, Teaching Elder,

About The Institute for Uniting Church and Home |
|
The mission of the Institute is to encourage, inspire, and train church leaders to unite the efforts of the church and the home in fulfilling the Great Commission. The Need The approach that churches typically employ to meet these challenges often creates separation both within the family unit and in the church family…which ultimately undermine their efforts. The Solution Our Goal We believe that because the principles we espouse constitute a design ordained by God, that they will produce fruit in the members of the church as well as through them to the surrounding community. We support church planting (with all appropriate oversight, direction and conformity to scriptural principles God has established for the leadership, mission, and operation of local churches) as well as gradual implementation for existing churches who may find themselves far from these principles in their ministry practices. We Seek to Help Church Leaders The Institute works with churches, denominations, ministry organizations, and seminaries of all Evangelical denominations who request help. How We Help Church Leaders Through the Institute, we want to provide consistent, ongoing, trustworthy support to church leaders. We want to help church leaders of today -and tomorrow- understand, communicate, and implement these household principles. We accomplish this through a variety of services including: UCH Leaders Network. This is a quarterly gathering of church leaders who seek to learn from and encourage each other in their implementation efforts. Individual Consultation. The Institute provides consulting-style assistance to individual churches to help them evaluate and implement the household principles. Seminars. Many pastors have worked hard laying the groundwork within their congregations but who still find it helpful for their flocks to hear the vision from a different voice. Our basic 4-hour seminar presents the vision to the entire congregation in a way that builds unity within the body of Christ around household relationships. The seminar is fun, interactive and provides many practical tools. Over the years, the seminar has been an effective church retreat tool as well. Conferences. The Institute sponsors national conferences that feature many of our ministry partners including the pastors and church leaders who are living household ministry, and who are featured in our UCH Reports. Uniting Church and Home Report (UCH Report). The UCH Report answers the cry of church leaders who want to know, “What does this vision look like in practice?!” Through DVD format, the stories of local churches are captured and told. Each Report is different in its focus so that church leaders get a broader understanding of how churches are growing with this approach. The Reports also inspire creativity for how church leaders can design their own ministries around household principles. Uniting Church and Home University (UCH U). The UCH University seeks to meet the need for ongoing teaching for church leaders who want to learn more about how to implement the household vision.
